A customer perspective from Tesco - the largest supermarket retailer in the UK, employing over 290,000 people in over 2700 stores nationwide.

David Williams has been with Tesco for 12 years, the first 5 years as a Senior Buying Manager in Commercial Food (Frozen Foods, Fresh Produce) and since then working within the Procurement function. Prior to Tesco he was a food buyer at Safeway. In his current role as Procurement Director he is responsible for the 'Goods and Services' suppliers for Marketing, IT, Distribution and Corporate Services across the UK and Central Europe business, leading the support functions for Procurement,
such as the procure to pay processes, and development of Tesco's group procurement infrastructure and managing the eSourcing team for all Commercial (Food / General Merchandise) Procurement.
